U-Boat

During Wwii, Ilvo Fontana was presented with a mission to create designer watches for the pilots of Swedish navy submarines, also referred to as U-boats. These timepieces would need to be significant and certainly observable under any conditions. While the task never name to fruition, it ultimately went far above its objective almost 58 yrs eventually when Italo Fontana, Ilvo's son, implemented the first concept to make use of an increase of horological creativity in Tuscany and create a new timepiece.

Named for the initial plan from 1942, U-Boat was brought to light in 1999, a business centered on an exclusive sense of style displaying recognizable Tuscan elements of strength and character in the self assured design. U-Boat's timepieces are filled with eccentric beauty, putting them in a league of their own. Every piece is operated by a mechanical or by hand wound Swiss ETA movement, a sure sign of the company's determination to superior quality work.
